25,000 Signatures & The Letter to Theresa May

By | March 30th, 2017|Updates|

After launching our ‘Article 50: Not in my name’ petition on Change.org, signatures have mounted to 25,000.

The letter we shall send to Theresa May can be found below:

Dear Theresa May (UK Prime Minister)

I would like to address a problem which has manifested itself within your decision to withdraw the UK from the European Union.

As you are aware, the Leave campaign whipped up xenophobic and racist sentiment, in an attempt to convince people that our so called “immigration problem” could be solved by leaving the European Union, when quite the contrary is true. Leave campaigned ruthlessly, driven by lies, deceit and scapegoating, and were propped up by popular right-wing national media. This has divided our great nation and contributed to a rise in hate crime.

17.4M people voting to leave, does not represent the combined ‘will of the British people’. Scotland and Northern Ireland voted in huge numbers to remain, with 70% of young people, whose futures are now at risk, also voting to remain. With large swathes of the population voting to remain, our voices are not being heard.

We, members of the 48% and those beyond that statistic, including EU citizens living here and UK citizens living abroad, are wholly against the principles of the leave campaign and the ideologues who thrived on the divisiveness of that very campaign.

Below, are the signatures of (X) people who wish not to be included in your vision for the UK outside of the EU. We are asking that you refrain from including us, the 48 and beyond and the signatories of this petition in your attempts to convince the Union that the British people are behind you.

Moving forward, upon your recommendation, the 48% will unite, we shall unite against a Britain outside of the EU and shall continue the battle to retain the UK’s membership of the European Union.

Signed 48 And Beyond and X People

Thank you to everyone who has signed the petition. We aim to deliver the letter to Theresa at downing street personally and live-stream this to our page.

Keep sharing the petition, the more signatures we receive, the greater the impact will be.

Brexit: Not in my name – Sign the petition

Theresa May has started the process for leaving the European Union, a dismal time for Remainers.

As the negotiations begin, Theresa and co keep referring to the 48% and including us in her ‘unity’ speeches, stating that we are on her side.

Well, we are not. Not only do we not see the narrow view of the world that you do, but we don’t support Brexit one bit.

Below is a link to a petition, where you can let Theresa know that she is alone in thinking she has our support.

Head over to the link, sign the petition and we’ll deliver it to her personally once we have enough signatures.

Article 50 triggered: but we will not give up

By | March 28th, 2017|Updates|

Theresa May has signed the letter that will begin the UK’s departure from the European Union.

The notice has been written as part of Article 50 of the Lisbon treaty, which will now be delivered to the president of the European council, Donald Tusk.

For many of you, this might seem like the end, but for many of us, this is just the beginning.

Negotiations between the UK and the EU will span almost 2 years, with David Davis, Boris Johnson and Theresa May at the forefront of it all.

For remainers, it’s just the beginning. With a potential 2 year span, we have ample opportunity to act.

Theresa May and our despondent government might be ignoring millions of British voters and refusing to guarantee the rights of expats and EU citizens living here in the UK but, for how long?

Even though article 50 has been triggered, despite the completely irrational and incomprehensible decision to do so, we must continue to do everything within our power to convince fellow voters that brexit can be stopped.

48 and beyond is now fast approaching 100,000 members and followers across its entire network, with the group now containing almost 60,000 members alone.

This gives us an edge, helping to bring like minded people together to fight this madness.

If you have not joined a local group, you can do so by joining the group and asking for your constituency link.

In order to properly fight back and limit the chances of a hard, damaging Brexit, we must engage now more than ever.

The march in London on Saturday reinvigorated the 48% and proved that despite all that has been said and done over the past few months, we are not going to roll over and forget about this.

Our futures, the futures of our children and our grandchildren are at stake and we must do all that we can to protect that.

Remember, things will get tough over the next couple of years, but if we continue to do what we have been for the past 9 months, we can stop Brexit.
