There’s something magical about the idea of a girls’ trip—a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, to unwind, and to reconnect with the women who mean the most to you. And what better occasion to embark on such an adventure than to celebrate a birthday? For me, this year, that adventure takes me to the picturesque beauty of Valle de Bravo, Mexico.
As I pack my bags and prepare for this long-awaited getaway, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement bubbling within me. This trip isn’t just about marking another year on the calendar; it’s about creating memories with the incredible women in my life—my mom, sisters, aunts, cousins, and best friends.
Valle de Bravo, with its tranquil lake and breathtaking scenery, provides the perfect backdrop for our celebration. We plan to spend our days soaking up the sun, indulging in leisurely boat rides, and perhaps even trying our hand at some paddleboarding. And in the midst of all this, we’ll find time for something that’s become increasingly important to me: yoga.
Yoga, with its focus on mindfulness and self-care, offers us a chance to not only strengthen our bodies but also to nourish our souls. As we flow through our poses, surrounded by the beauty of nature, I know that the bonds between us will only grow stronger.
Of course, no girls’ trip would be complete without a bit of pampering. As I think about the days ahead, I envision myself lounging by the lake, sipping on my morning tea—a concoction of ginger, turmeric, lemon, Manuka honey, and chia seeds. It’s a ritual that grounds me, that helps me start each day with intention and vitality.
And when it comes to skincare when I travel, I’m a firm believer in the power of simplicity. My travel-sized bottles of vitamin CE Ferulic, HA multiplier, ZO moisturizer, and renew face oil may be small, but their effects are mighty. They keep my skin in the best condition while traveling.
But perhaps the most important aspect of this trip isn’t the destination or the activities—it’s the opportunity to connect with other women. In a world that often pits us against each other, there’s something truly special about coming together in sisterhood, supporting and uplifting one another every step of the way.
As I sit here, on the cusp of this new adventure, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Gratitude for the women who have shaped me, who have stood by my side through every triumph and tribulation. And gratitude for this precious time we have together, to laugh, to love, and to celebrate life in all its beauty.
So here’s to Valle de Bravo, to birthday celebrations, and to the power of female friendship. May this trip be just the beginning of many more adventures to come, reminding us always of the strength and solidarity we find in each other. I’ll be 48!
